Colorful Inspiration

Lately I've been so in love with Leonid Afremov's colorful paintings. I would love to get one of these for my house, though I'm not sure where I would put it. The way he portrays sceneries with such brilliant color is captivating. I'm sure given the choice I could not possibly pick a favorite! See for yourself:

Pillow Talk

I picked up my first sewing machine today from my mom's house. I am so eager to begin sewing. I can't wait to learn! After deciding that I would like to begin my sewing quest by making pillows, I've been looking up different styles to gain inspiration. Here is what I've come up with thus far:

I love this Appliqued Fall Pillow! The tutorial is found here!

This Petal Pillow is found at the same site and the tutorial is here!
Even a knit pillow!? Found at BlissLiving
This polka dot pillow is also from BlissLiving.
This is a ring bearer's pillow, but gorgeous nonetheless. More like this one can be found at Karen Yee's Etsy shop!

These lovely pillows are from Tulu Textiles, which is a company based out of Istanbul.

I love the 3D aspects of this pillow from Country Living:

This doily pillow is super cute. Martha Steward provides a tutorial on how to make it here!

This next pillow is actually a ring bearer's pillow from Martha Stewart, but I love the giant flower!

Better Homes & Gardens provides a free tutorial on how to make pillows such as these. Simply go here.

I found a tutorial on how to make this pillow on this blog!

Pier 1 has some excellent pillow inspirations!

I am not crazy about the yellow and brown color scheme of this one, but I like the general idea

I found these adorable pillows on Etsy! They have lots of other variations as well!

Looolo Textiles:

These are from Anthropologie
"If......Then"

"Orimono Pillow, Flower"
Well I suppose that is enough pillow inspirations to keep me busy for awhile. Hope you enjoyed them as well!

Oh, just a few finds to share...

My newest project is to learn how to sew. My mom can sew practically anything. She made all of my 6 bridesmaid dresses for my wedding, 3 flower girl dresses, her dress, all of the runners for the tables, and a plethora of other things. Talk about Wonder Woman! Just the other night my mom found a nice sewing machine at a local thrift store and gave it to me in an effort to help me learn. I'm excited to get started! I've decided that pillows are an easy thing to practice on. I think I will make lots of girly, frilly pillows! Who knows, if they turn out well, I might even be able to sell them in my mom's gift store! I will keep you posted as to how this adventure goes!

This pillow is from Looolo Anna

Of course lace is big now, but I've always loved the femininity of lace. This shirt is from Charlotte Russe and I'm loving it
The following fabulous items are from Rouche... They have so many beautiful things!

This belt is a super cute addition to an outfit!

I love this floral pendent ring

I really want to try to make some cute ribbon bracelets. Maybe not exactly like these, but these are sort of an inspiration:

These three are by Thistle and Clover

This one is from Ruche
